About the Book

Let’s face it … parenting is hard work!  And our children don’t come with instruction manuals.

The reality is we can not do this in our own strength, through our own abilities, or out of our own knowledge!   We absolutely need the Lord’s strength, wisdom, and grace in every moment of raising our children – from infancy through adolescence and even beyond.

I’ve learned this one truth:

I can’t give out what I don’t have!

That’s where Parenting from the Overflow comes in.  I’ll never be able to parent with love and patience and kindness and self-control until I first sit at the feet of my Father and experience those same graces from Him.   It’s only as I become more like Him that I am able to parent His way.

Parenting from the Overflow is a tool, a journal of sorts, filled with lessons I’ve learned, Scriptures that have challenged and changed me, and suggestions for you, dear momma friend, to grow as a child of God so you can parent the child God has given you.

It’s certainly not a “how to” {in some cases it’s probably more of a “how NOT to”} but it is starting point. A place to begin with Bible in hand … seeking Him, learning Him, and knowing Him.   And that is how we best parent from the overflow of Him.
